Glynn M. Downey Attica Red Rambler basketball coach in 1937-38 after graduation from Purdue died at Stuart, Fla., Friday morning, (Jan. 30, 1976). Mr. Downey had resided at Indianapolis before moving to Florida in 1975. Mr. Downey, was born in Frankfort and was graduated from Purdue in 1937. He was former high school basketball coach at Attica winning 14, losing 11 in 1938, and his Greencastle High School team went to the semi-state basketball tournament finals. He was senior vice president for Indiana Insurance Group at Indianapolis. Mr. Downey served as a lieutenant in the Navy during World War II and was a member of Murat Temple, Columbia Club, Indianapolis Athletic Club and Highland Golf and Country Club. Mr. Downey and Red Lambert came to AHS in the fall of 1937 a head basketball and assistant respectively. Mr. Lambert was named head basketball coach after Downey moved to Greencastle. - jlr
